The main feature of a pressure washer is it's power, this is measured with a scale called Bar, the higher the bar the higher the pressure of the washer and the more effective it will be at shifting the more hard to move debris. The high bar pressure washers are generally more expensive than the lower bar models, the more expensive models also generally have more accessories and manoeuvrability than the cheaper models. It is worth having a look through the various models though as there is quite a gap in prices, you have to ask yourself what you actually need. There are several manufacturers who sell pressure washers with the most popular in the UK being Karcher, Kew, Bosch, JCB, and RAC.

The high pressure washers generally come with some other accessories, these include an on board detergent tank which is great if you are washing the car, some also come with brushes attached making car washing an absolute breeze. Some also have the switch control of the motor attached to the trigger, so when the trigger is not pressed the motor will not be running. This means that you no longer have to walk back to the machine to switch it off and helps reduce water and electricity costs and extends the life of the washer. Another feature that is useful is the hose reel which provides tidy, space saving storage.

The most popular brand of pressure washer is Karcher as they offer pressure washers of a very high quality. Popular Karcher pressure washers include the K399m.

So basically you have to decide what you need from your pressure washer, the more expensive models have a higher bar in pressure and also have nice accessories but the cheap pressure washers are generally quite allot cheaper and some are not that less powerful, they just don't have the accessories and the higher pressure. There are also lots of brands that sell pressure washers including Karcher, JCB, Kew, RAC and Bosch.
